Treatments & Modalities

Yutori Wellness offers treatments rooted in traditional Japanese medicine, including acupuncture, shiatsu, massage, and bodywork, from our clinic in Shoreditch, East London. Each modality is approached with care and attention to the individual, supporting the body through stress, pain, and imbalance.

Acupuncture & Moxibustion

True to the traditional Japanese style, we use exceptionally fine needles. Our approach to acupuncture is very hands on, meaning we use our hands to palpate the body in search of the most effective point to use. Moxibustion (Moxa) is a practice where we burn an herb on top of a protective cream over an acupuncture point.

Myofascial Bodywork

A form of bodywork that releases tension, relieves pain and restores fluidity to an interconnected web of soft tissues known as our fascial system. This can be especially supportive for chronic tension, pain, and postural imbalance.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu (指圧) is a traditional Japanese form of body work where we use the palms, fingers, elbows and knees to stimulate your body with stretches and gentle manipulations that will balance the body’s energy and support natural healing. Often sought for stress, fatigue, and nervous system regulation.

Aroma Shiatsu

AromaShiatsu is an integration of aromatherapy and Shiatsu. After a consultation, I will choose a carrier oil and combine 100% pure essential oils to suit your needs. This blend is custom to each client. This treatment will be performed on the massage table and oil will be applied onto your skin.

Teishin & Dashin

A tool known as a Teishin can be used to have an effect on the fascia and acupuncture points without puncturing the skin. Dashin is a gentle technique focused on releasing tension in the abdomen.

Reiki

Rooted in ancient Japanese wisdom, Reiki is a gentle yet profound practice that honors the body’s silent language of energy. By calming the nervous system and clearing the heavy weight of stress, it brings the body’s equilibrium back to a state of natural harmony. This inclusive, non-invasive practice creates a sanctuary for the spirit to heal—offering a space of deep restoration for those navigating burnout, illness, or life transitions by awakening the body’s innate ability to restore its own light. Often sought for stress, burnout, and emotional overwhelm.

Chi Nei Tsang

Abdominal Therapy with Reiki

Chi Nei Tsang is a traditional Taoist healing practice that works with the abdomen as the body’s living centre. Abdominal stagnation can quietly shape the whole system: digestion, breathing, mood, mental clarity, hormonal rhythm, menstrual flow, sleep and the felt sense of being grounded in the body. These sessions combine abdominal massage, acupressure, diaphragmatic release, lymphatic drainage, warm compresses and fascial work. Reiki is woven throughout. The treatment is both manual and energetic. Not suitable during pregnancy.

Advanced Chi Nei Tsang

Pelvic, Womb & Reproductive Therapy with Reiki

These sessions consist of deeper abdominal work for women, focused on the reproductive system, sexual energy and the body’s key transitions (perimenopause & menopause, postpartum, hormonal imbalance, pelvic congestion or disconnection, etc). The deeper pelvic work addresses the reproductive organs, surrounding fascia and vascular pathways through deep myofascial release, acupressure and energetic channel work. Reiki runs through the entire session, with particular attention to the sacral and pelvic centre. This is entirely external, hands-on work. There is no internal work of any kind.

Postnatal Restoration

The body after birth is not broken, it is reorganising.
This session is designed to meet that reality with precision and care. It draws on a range of therapeutic modalities, structural massage, Chi Nei Tsang abdominal work, and Reiki — woven together and tailored to what each woman needs at her stage of recovery. C-section scar work available if applicable. Not every element is offered at every visit. The session is built around your specific needs.

Mind-Body Therapy

Mind-Body Therapy is a peaceful, meditative, Zen focused approach which uses a blend of talk, visualization, sound and light touch. It is a gentle yet effective approach to traditional therapy that works on a deeper level, where symptoms (in whatever form they are present: emotional, physical or mental) are given a voice. Once heard, the symptoms will often then no longer need to persist. Mind-Body Therapy works with whatever the client presents, although it can work particularly well with:
Issues involving another person including family, colleagues or lost loved ones
Anxiety
Addiction
Nervous system & vagus nerve issues
Depression
Loss of direction or sense of self
Headaches & general pain
Eating disorders and binge eating
Anger issues
Issues from the past that are still festering

Tibetan Bowl Sound Therapy

The essence of this half hour sound bath is a sonic massage throughout your auditory journey. The blissful sounds emanate from a world-renowned handcrafted Peter Hess® Therapy Singing Bowl: a high-quality, bronze instrument designed specifically for sound massage and therapeutic use. During the session, the bowl is placed on various areas of the body and gently tapped, which sends calming and rebalancing vibrations throughout the body. The sounds work with the nervous system to positively affect you on all levels: mental, emotional and physical. This can be especially supportive for deep relaxation and nervous system reset.

Kobido & Hadado

These facial therapies combine traditional Japanese techniques with modern approaches, supporting circulation, structure, and overall skin health.

About Kobido

Kobido 古美道 is a traditional centuries old Japanese esthetic technique that was born about 540 years ago in Suruga (now Shizuoka Prefecture) and originated from amma (massage). Today, Dr. Shogo Mochizuki, a physician and specialist in Japanese massage, carries on the tradition as the 26th head master. Kobido is presented as the ultimate facial massage: directly working the facial muscles to stimulate contraction and achieve the maximum firming effect. It is an effective anti-aging technique that requires a skill as high as that of tea ceremony or flower arrangement. You can expect rhythmic and percussive strokes, which will improve circulation and leave the skin lifted and glowing.

About Hadado

Hadado represents a more advanced, master level evolution of Kobido that brings together tradition and innovation. More modern in concept, it was developed to deepen and expand the effectiveness of traditional techniques through precise work with the muscles, fascia and the lymphatic system to enhance both structural and aesthetic results. There is a strong emphasis on the preparation of the tissues before any lifting, contouring or sculpting begins. Hadado was developed by Tamasz Tomasik (trained by Dr. Shogo Mochizuki, 26th Master of House and Lineage of Kobido Japan). Tomasz added myofascial release prior to the traditional Kobido to increase its benefit. Think of this as deep tissue work for your face.

Frequently Asked Questions

Japanese medicine can include acupuncture, moxibustion, shiatsu, and other hands on techniques that work with the body’s natural regulatory systems.

Acupuncture uses fine needles to stimulate specific points, while shiatsu uses hands on pressure and movement to work with the body’s energy pathways.

Yes, many practitioners integrate multiple techniques depending on what is most appropriate for the individual.

If needles aren’t your cup of tea, that’s ok. In the Japanese style we use very small, thin needles, but even so, if needles aren’t what you’re looking for we can focus on other modalities such as Moxa, Teishin, Dashin and other hands on work.

It is advised to wait 2 weeks after botox, 4 weeks after fillers, or 2-3 months after lifting threads

Work can begin 6 weeks after a natural delivery or 8-12 weeks post-op for C-section subject to GP clearance.

Prior to your first session you will be sent a health history intake form that you can complete at home. When you come in, your practitioner will continue your patient intake and discuss what brings you in as well as what your goals are when you leave. If you are receiving acupuncture & bodywork you will be asked about various things that may appear unrelated to what brought you in. Keep in mind that in this style of medicine, everything is related and nothing is irrelevant. Any acupuncture session will include a pulse reading and possibly abdominal palpation. Once we decipher whether we will practice non-insertion needles or inserted acupuncture needles, your practitioner will put together a treatment plan based upon what is unearthed during your patient intake.

Visceral Manipulation is a gentle manual therapy that assesses the structural relationships between the viscera (organs), and their fascial or ligamentous attachments to the various systems in the body. It assists functional and structural imbalances throughout the body including musculoskeletal, vascular, nervous, urogenital, respiratory, digestive, neuroendocrine and lymphatic dysfunction.

Yes, Dr. Lauren Haythe has a passion for working with scars. Gentle but effective scar tissue work can make a world of difference with surgical scars (knee, abdominal, C-section, etc.) or a battle scar from a sports injury or accident. You can also book C-section scar work with Eugenie as part of the postnatal restoration session.

Sessions are usually once a week, but they could be once every two to three weeks.

This will depend upon your type of treatment and can be discussed with your practitioner. Most will ask that you wear comfortable clothing.

All sales are final and no refunds will be offered. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy for all sessions. Packages expire one year from the purchase date.
